On the Costa Blanca only a few kilometers inland from the coast, you will find the spectacular Orba valley. This valley is known for its luxuriant greenness and mountains, combining with the luminous blue of the sky and sea. The ancient old agricultural traditions on the banks of the Mediterranean sea are still alive today in the Orba valley, with its orange, olive and almond groves.
There are various villages in the Orba valley: Benidoleig, Tormos, Sagra, Rafol, Benimeli, among others, small white sun bleached villages which stand out amongst the luscious greenness. The village of Valle de Laguart is know as the balcony of the valley due to its breathtaking views and it is also renowned for its old Arabic walking routes which are very well conserved.
In the center of the valley is ORBA, with approximately 1600 inhabitants, which offers, apart from its quaintness all types of services. Historically of Moorish origins, the town used to be one of the most important pottery centers and today you can still see some of the old ovens that were once used; also worth a mention are the church and bell tower in the main square.
The attraction today arises from its privileged situation, close to the coastal and tourist areas, but it conserves all the Mediterranean village character and lifestyle.
